How do I find exhibitors and products on the platform?

Are you tired of spending the first few hours upon arrival at an event going through the onsite Show Guide trying to find out where to begin?

Let DirectEventConnect be your guide! DirectEventConnect is a comprehensive, online exhibitor directory and interactive networking platform for our event. By utilizing DirectEventConnect before attending the actual event, you as an attendee can strategically plan how to maximize your time to generate the greatest return on investment (ROI) by setting up your personalized My Event Planner.

My Event Planner is a to-do list and meeting scheduler that allows you (our registered attendee) to bookmark and save exhibiting companies, products and services that interest you and that you wish to learn more about onsite at our event.

You can build, refine, and add to your My Event Planner right from your own desktop.

After you bookmark exhibitors and products, they are automatically saved as favorites and are highlighted on your printable floor plan for you to use on site.

Is there a cost to use?

DirectEventConnect is open to all users free of charge. Simply start searching for exhibitors and products that interest you!

Do I have to subscribe to use?

No, all users can simply search when ready. But, if you really want to make the most of the event, subscribe to DirectEventConnect and use your My Event Planner to contact other registered attendees and exhibitors, save products and services that interest you and create a printable floor plan to use on site at the event.

What is DirectEventConnect?

DirectEventConnect is an online, interactive community that lets you gather exhibiting companies, products and services into a customized planner from your own desktop. You can create, edit and personalize your planner at any time. Each company you select will also be included on a printable floor plan for you to follow on site at the event.

Searching on DirectEventConnect

1. Quick Search
Quick Search offers the possibility to search the site quickly and effectively using keywords. Or you can either search in all available categories, or in just one category. A multiple selection of categories is not possible here.

Only results which contain all search terms will show. Search is not influenced by the order of keywords. If you would like to narrow your search down, you can carry out further searches within the results list. Simply type in the new search term and highlight "search in results".

To see detailed information of one of the entries in the results list, simply click on the respective name. A new page will open, where you will find all available information on the entry of your choice.

2. Advanced Search
Advanced Search makes it possible to re-define your search. First select the category you wish to search. Then enter all information which is relevant to your search. This can be by free text, or a choice of predetermined information. Whenever you see the asterisk a multiple selection is possible. Hold the 'ctrl' key and click on all subcategories you wish to search.

To see detailed information of one of the entries in the results list, simply click on the respective title. A new page will open, where you will find all available information on the entry of your choice.

How can I personalize My Event Planner?

"My Event Planner" is a set of features which helps you to plan your tradeshow visit, by managing your profile, your personal calendar, your favorite products and services, and much more. All communications occur within the platform. Your personal email and other personal information cannot be viewed by other individuals. In "My Event Planner" you will find the following features:

  • My profile: View and update your personal data under which you will be listed on DirectEventConnect
  • Messages within DirectEventConnect: Receive important information about your account, as well as messages from registered attendees and exhibitors who want to get in touch with you all within the privacy of your DirectEventConnect profile. All communications are handled within the DirectEventConnect platform.
  • Show Planner: Maximize your time at the event and prepare your tradeshow visit well in advance with a printable floor map that includes exhibitors that interest you
  • Favorites: Chose and monitor your favorite products, exhibitors, or attendees
  • Calendar / Events: Save all important appointments and events to your personal calendar, publish and edit your own public events
How can I print my floor plan?

Login into DirectEventConnect and go to My Event Planner. After you have saved your favorite products and exhibitors, they will appear in your planner under Event Planner: Favorite products and exhibitors. Simply select the companies/ exhibitors that you would like to be included on your floor plan and then select print from the drop down menu. You will now see the floor plan with your selected companies/exhibitors on a printer-friendly page.

How can I contact companies on DirectEventConnect?

If you would like to send an email to someone you need to find either:

  • their company/personal entry
  • or the entry of one of their products

on the platform first. Underneath the picture on the left you will find a series of buttons. Click on "Send email".

On the next page, you will be asked to enter your email address and a short message to the recipient. Optionally you can also enter your name and a contact telephone number. Once you have entered your email text simply click 'Send' and the email will be forwarded to the exhibitor. It is important to remember that an email will be sent to their inbox within the DirectEventConnect platform.

How can I request an appointment with an exhibitor or attendee?

You can request an appointment with an exhibitor or an attendee via the DirectEventConnect platform.

To do so, you need to find the company's/person's entry first. Underneath the picture (on the left) you will find the button "Request Appointment".

Clicking on the button will lead you to the following page, where you will be asked to enter your email address and your message (the two are obligatory). Optionally you can also add your name and a contact telephone number. Below you will see a box. Tick it and enter the date and time when you would like the appointment to take place. When your Request is complete, simply click on "Send" and it will be forwarded to the exhibitor / person concerned. It is important to remember that an email will be sent to their inbox within the DirectEventConnect platform.

How can I recommend products or exhibitors to coworkers, colleagues or other registered attendees?

If you would like to send a recommendation, find the entry you would like to recommend within the DirectEventConnect platform. Underneath the picture on the left, you will find a series of buttons. Click on "Recommend".

On the next page you will be asked to enter your email address, the recipients email address, and a short message. Once you have entered all information simply click 'Send' and the email will be sent. It is important to remember that an email will be sent to their inbox within the DirectEventConnect platform.

How to Get Started:
  1. Subscribe to DirectEventConnect and create your attendee profile
  2. Browse, compare, and save exhibitors and products that interest you to your My Event Planner
  3. Revisit DirectEventConnect often to see updates and add new products and exhibitors to your My Event Planner
  4. Print your customized floor plan to follow onsite
